Good communication between the school, the home and the wider community is crucial to any school. The Communications Group within the Parent Council seeks to foster this in a number of ways:

• promoting Broughton High School, its excellent new building and facilities, and its superb staff
• publicising the challenges facing the school such as budget constraints
• establishing links to the various feeder primary schools and providing information on Broughton which will enable parents of primary age children to make an informed choice of secondary school
• gaining feedback, via a questionnaire, on the experiences of S1 pupils and their parents during their first year of high school
• establishing and maintaining the Parent Council website as a way of presenting and explaining the above
• helping with the school's website
